Good to see the pics, one question why black and white as I presume you are shooting digitally.
On picture making - you can never take enough pictures. But work each event/picture move round the subject - pay attention to the lighting and focus - shoot low, shoot high, shoot close and shoot a establishing shot. Have a look at the Ken Kobre book...
